Full Description
Britannia Inn. Two blocks, the left originally being a school, as recorded ona tablet : `School for the education and clothing of poor girls of Sherborne founded by the Right Honourable William Lord Digbey, 1743'. The right hand block is of a similar date but has had its ground floor openings altered. <1>

'(100) Britannia Inn, 50 yards S. of (99), has a tablet on the S.E. front inscribed "School for the education and clothing of poor girls of Sherborne, founded by the Right Honourable William Lord Digby 1743". There is a later extension on the N.'
