Listed Building record MDO14403 - The West House, Nether Compton

Early seventeenth century house, restored in the nineteenth century and dated over the first floor windows JRPG 1890. Built with rubble stone and dressed stone walls and clay-tile roofs.

‘The following monuments, unless otherwise described, are of the 17th century and of two storeys; the walls are of rubble and the roofs are thatched or covered with modern materials. Some of the buildings have exposed ceiling-beams and original fireplaces. … (6) Cottage, nearly opposite the church, retains two original stone-mullioned windows with labels. A panelled door in the upper S.E. room has an enriched frieze.’
