Full Description

NB. This feature was not interpreted as a cross dyke in the course of the National Mapping Programme South Dorset Ridgeway Project. Instead, it was incorporated into a larger area of lynchets.

‘Cross Ridge Dyke. (586882-587884) 200 yds. S.E. of Old Warren hillfort. It is over 300 yds, aligned N.E.-S.W., has been reduced by ploughing but is now under pasture. Sited across the narrowest part of the spur, downhill from the summit, the bank is 28’ wide and about 3’ above the ditch, which is 6’ wide at the bottom and 12’ wide to its outer lip. The ditch is on the S.E. side of the bank, facing away from the hillfort.’
