Site of a probable Bronze Age bowl barrow, noted by field investigators as a plough-levelled mound and also visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs

Full Description

An apparent flinty bowl barrow, measuring 10.0m diameter and 0.7m high with unsurveyable traces of a surrounding ditch situated on recently reclaimed land. <1>

`C` SY 60278748. The remains of a probable bowl-barrow consisting of a ploughed-spread flinty mound 6.0m. in diameter and 0.2m. high. There is no visible evidence of a ditch. Surveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. <3>

Also visible as a cropmarked mound on aerial photographs <5>, measuring approximately 8 metres in diameter and surrounded by a 1 meter wide outer ditch, except along the south-east part. This site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
