Summary

Former mill, converted to house. Mid seventeenth century with twentieth century refenestration and internal conversion. Rubble-stone walls with stone quoins. Slate roof--with stone gable- copings, scroll-kneelers and moulded apex-blocks. 2 storeys and attics.

Full Description

A building marked as Abbotsbury Mill (Corn), on the first edition of the OS map (1) also marked on the second edition, but not as Abbotsbury Mill, but as a Mill, Dam and Mill (2).

Former mill, converted to house. Mid C17 with C20 refenestration and internal conversion. Rubble-stone walls with stone quoins. Slate roof--with stone gable- copings, scroll-kneelers and moulded apex-blocks. 2 storeys and attics. 2 windows, 3-light wooden casements, C20. Round-headed window at left hand ground. Stone steps up at right hand to C20 plank door with keyed stone lintel over. Interior: wooden crown wheel left, but rest of machinery removed. Roof con- struction considerably strengthened with halved collars, double-pegged, and butted purlins.
