Full Description

Three bowl barrows, diameters of 'A' 'B' and 'C' 9, 5 and 7 paces respectively with heights of 1ft. 'A' has a hollow in the top. <2>

Bowl barrow, one of three, 18ft. in diam and 1ft. high. Listed as especially worthy of preservation. <3>

Three ditchless grass covered bowl barrows, A, B and C, with respective diameters 9.0m, 7.0m and 7.0m, and from 0.3m to 0.4m high. <4>

A Bronze Age bowl barrow lying on the top of a chalk ridge at SY5875987939. The barrow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs <7> and is 9m across. It was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.

Ditchless, grass covered bowl barrow 7.0m diameter and 0.3m high. There is a hollow in the centre 1.0m x 1.0m deep, revealing that the mound is constructed of chalk rubble set in a dark earth. This hollow is probably the result of cattle erosion in a field of lush pasture. The state of preservation of this small barrow suggests that the field is rarely ploughed. 1/3/C
