The old house was standing in 1774 and was replaced by the present house about the end of the 18th century. A 16th century chapel stands nearby. (2,3)

The house, entirely of late 18th century date, is now known as St Antonys-Leweston School name-boards). There are no visible remains of the earlier property. The 16th century domestic chapel is in normal use. Both buildings are in good repair but neither is outstanding. (4)

Saint Artary's Convent (formerly listed as Lewerton Manor) Grade 2*. (5)

Mentioned. (6)

The present house stands on the site of Lewertons DMV which was demolished ca 1774 when the present house was built. Lewerton is first mentioned in 1145 in the Sherborne Cartulary.
