Listed Building record MDO13339 - Bridge over the river Tarrant at Monkton Ford, Tarrant Monkton

A footbridge across the river Tarrant, thought to have been built in the 17th century. It is made of heathstone ashlar and rubble in three arches. The approach ramps and railings are of 19th and 20th-century date. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water.

ST 94510904. The packhorse bridge over the Tarrant at Tarrant Monkton is of three spans with pointed arches, built in ashlar and rubble, and dates from the 17th century <2> or 16th century or earlier <1>.
It originally had no railings and the parapets were low so as to clear the hanging packs of the horses. <1-3>
