Summary

Two storey house and shop with attics and basements. The walls are ashlar, partly rendered and the roofs are slate. Eighteenth century, with nineteenth century additions. The north front is modern. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water.

‘The 1846 Tithe Apportionment (DRO T/SY) gives the Marquis of Westminster as the owner of nos. 41 [sic, likely to be 43] and 45 .... No. 43 is described in the Tithe Apportionment as ‘house, shop, premises and garden’. Elizabeth Ackland and Thomas Mullet had a cutlers and ironmongers business in the High Street with entries in the Directories from 1848.’
