Full Description
One of four houses (Nos. 48-56) linked by one-storey porches, on the west side of West Bay Road, which form part of a planned development called 'Portville', developed by Samuel Gundry junior, dated 1837. No. 48 is a two-storey stucco-fronted house with low-pitched slate roof with wide eaves on shaped brackets. The front has angle pilasters with incised anthemion decoration and two round-headed windows on first floor and a six-bay cast iron verandah with vine leaf trellis work. Entrance porch connects it to No. 50. (1)
