Full Description

Still known as Lady's Well, it is more in the nature of a spring and consists of a brick chamber 1.0m square with a stone slab on top. There is no visible evidence of antiquity but local tradition says the well was used to supply water to Hermitage Priory (ST 60 NW 12). This may be true, for it is still used as a source of water for Church Farm. <2>

Lady's Well (name confirmed at Church Farm). No change to report of 10 9 55 except that the water is no longer piped to Church Farm. Published 1:2500 survey correct. <3>
