A probable Medieval churchyard cross consisting of a shaft on two steps, situated in the old churchyard, Haydon. <2>

ST 67071574 Remains of a Medieval churchyard cross comprising a fragment of shaft, square to octagonal in section, 1.3 m high, 0.3 m square, set into a socket stone, 0.9 m square, 0.4 m high, with broached corners. This, in turn, stands upon a stone base, 1.6 m square, 0.6 m high. In fair condition, but very overgrown.

Published 1:2500 survey still correct. <3>


Note: MDO1231 was a duplicate record of MDO1232. Both recorded the same churchyard cross but MDO1231 was only a skeleton record where as MDO1232 has been fleshed out and has been accessioned from the NRHE-to-HER database. Therefore MDO1231 has been deleted as it is superfluous. All the relevant Status & Codes are listed against MDO1232.
