Full Description

A 17th century timber-framed house with jettied front wall and a projecting cross-wall at north end with heavy moulded corbel at 1st floor level. This cross-wall resembles the type of fire-walls found in many urban timber-framed buildings in the South West. The front is stucco with a low shopfront on ground floor and a low wooden arch to a passageway with a chamfered arch cut into the lintel, to the south and a single sash window with glazing bars on first floor. Pitched slate roof. (1) (2)

16th or 17th century houses. Timber framed. Stucco. Pitched slate roof. 2 storeys, upper floor jettied. Stone party wall at north end with heavy moulded corbel at 1st floor level. No 16 has 1 sash with glazing bars on 1st floor, low shopfront below, and low wooden arch to passageway at left hand with chamfered segmental arch cut into lintel. No 18 also apparently timber-framed, but front a 19th century rebuild in red brick. 2 sashes on 1st floor. 19th century shopfront, with fluted pilasters with scrolled tops; turned mullions and ornate spandrels. Rear has 2 2-storey extensions; brick, Nos 16 & 16A's red, Nos 18 & 18A's colour-washed. <5>
