Full Description

St Andrew’s Chapel was constructed to serve the congregation in the southern part of the parish of Bradpole in the suburbs of Bridport. It was consecrated on 28 September 1860 and was dedicated to St Andrew, partly because it lay near ‘St Andrew’s Well’ and partly after “an old chapel which once existed at the eastern extremity of Briport, bearing the same name”. The church was built in an Early-Decorated style with nave and chancel only and a bell-turret at the western end containing three bells. The stone was from Loders and the dressings in stone from Hamdon Hill. <1>

The church has been de-consecrated and is now a private dwelling.
