Summary

A lime kiln recorded as ‘limekiln’ on the first edition (1886-9), second edition (1900-2), and 1928 revised Ordnance Survey maps. The date of this kiln is not known but it is most likely to be late nineteenth century. The site was visited in 1992-93 by Peter Stanier, who recorded that very little (1-19%) of the kiln structure survived in bad condition. It was not possible to determine what type of kiln construction this was.
