Full Description
Part of a planned terrace (37-45 Ropewalks), probably dating from the early 19th century. The terrace comprises five three-storey houses with a regular classical façade, each house having a single bay front. The walls are of rubble with random ashlar blocks and brick is used on the north elevation. This terrace is a good example of factory-workers' housing in Bridport. (1)
The terrace may have been built for workers at Stephen Whetham's Priory Works.
