Summary
A public house thought to have been built in the late eighteenth century. It was called The King of Prussia which may be a reference to either the Seven Years War (1756 to 1763) or the Napoleonic Wars (1803 to 1815), and in 1914 was named The King of the Belgians for a short time.
The building has walls of brick with colourwash and a slate roof. It has a nineteenth-century shop window and six-panel door with semi-circular fanlight. The inner door is half glazed and the glass engraved with an equestrian portait suggested to be a Prussian king, possibly Friedrich Wilhelm II (1744- 1797) or Friedrich Wilhelm III (1770-1840).
