Full Description
Three-storey building probably built in the 1840s, with walls of ashlar and squared rubble and with a pitched slate roof. The north front was symmetrically designed, with moulded plinth, quoins, moulded strings at first and second floor levels, a heavy stone eaves cornice and a low parapet. The central doorway has engaged Roman Doric side-columns and entablature. The flanking windows have moulded architraves and cornices carried on heavy consoles. The first floor windows have Ionic pilasters carrying full entablatures. The second floor windows have moulded architraves. (1)
The Borough granted the building lease to the Trustees of the Bridport Savings Bank in 1847.
