Listed Building record MDO11863 - The Bull Hotel, 34 East Street, Bridport

A house which appears to be of eighteenth-century date but is thought likely to be at least seventeenth century, because a man is reported to have been killed here during the Monmouth Rebellion in 1685. The front of the building is covered in stucco and the back of the main range hung with slates. The main door way has Tuscan pilasters and entablature. An elliptical arch leads to a yard behind. There are two long extensions at the back of the building, and south of these are further extensions of coursed rubble and brick, ending in a block with a hipped slate roof, segment headed passageway through, an external brick stair to rear with stone treads, and a clock in the front.
