Full Description

About 50 yds to the NE is an earthwork, 'A', which is probably not a barrow. <2>

'A' An enclosure consisting of a semi circular bank, diam 96 ft; the bank is 3-5 ft high above the ground outside and the surface inside is about 1 1/2 ft high. <3>

'A' This earthwork consists of a bank which forms three sides of a square, but with very rounded corners giving a semi-circular effect in the plan view. On the side facing the SW a broad shallow outer ditch is visible. The interior is planted with young conifers, and is above the general ground level. The fourth SE side has been destroyed by the modern farm yard and buildings. The raised interior does not suggest a normal enclosure for impounding animals and it could possibly be a building platform. No entrance is visible on the existing sides. <4>

'A' does not appear to have been erected for a building platform. <5>

(SY 61479278) .... "Enclosure Frampton No 20 has no demonstrable link with the fields (see Celtic field system - SY 69 SW 20) but is probably prehistoric ...". <7>

SY 614928-615925 "Three round barrows near Town Hill Barn. Scheduled No 316". <8>
