Full Description

'B' An oval barrow (listed under bowl barrows). Diameter 20 x 15 paces, height 4 1/2 ft. About 50 yds to the NE is an earthwork, 'A', which is probably not a barrow. <3> <6>

'B' A grass covered mound, elongated in a NE-SW direction and measuring 18.0 m x 11.0 m with a height of 1.5 m. There is no visible ditch, but the mound appears to be a spread bowl barrow. <4>

'B' is stepped down in the NE. There is no indication that it has ever had any other than its present odd shape. As its foot in the NE is a large pond from which it may be part of the upcast - a doubtful barrow. <5>

SY 614928-615925 "Three round barrows near Town Hill Barn. Scheduled No 316". <8>

'B'. SY 61449272. The remains of a probable barrow, now reduced to about one-quarter of its original size by 'bulldozing'. The remains form a rectangle 10.0 by 7.0 metres and 1.2 metres high, rounded at the north-east end. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <9>

The southern, 300 yards S. of Town Hill Barn, is a bowl barrow 50 ft. in diam. and 5¼ ft. high.'
