Full Description
(SU 01010013) A house of two storeys with rendered walls and a tiled roof, of late 17th century origin but extensively remodelled and enlarged in the 19th century. The west front is symmetrical and of five bays with a central doorway sheltered by a porch with Roman-Doric columns. There are plain sashed windows in both storeys and a platband marks the level of the first floor. Inside, the differences in floor level suggest that the east range is of earlier date than the main rooms on the west. The service wing on the south and east incorporates a 17th century cottage with timber framed walls. Panelling of 17th century date has recenly been brough from elsewhere. <1>
