Summary

Site of a Bronze Age bowl barrow visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs. It is one of a group of three possible barrows located at this vicinity (MDO1147-49).

Full Description

'A' - SY 60669348, 'B' - SY 60729351 and 'C' - SY 60889354. Three bowl barrows.
'C' - Diameter 22 paces, height 9ft. <2>

Bowl barrow, it is the easternmost of three, 54ft. In diam and 4.5ft. High. Similar information to auth 2, but lesser dimensions. <3>

Three grass covered bowl barrows, with no visible ditches. 'C' - This barrow has depressions in the top, S.E., and S.W. quadrants, as if excavated. Diameter 19.0 metres; height on W 2.0m, height on east where a lynchet joins the barrow, 0.6m. <4>

'C'. SY 60899354. Bowl barrow as described by <4>. All the barrows are under grass and have not been ploughed over. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. <5>

'(12) BOWL BARROWS, near the W. boundary of the parish and 1½ m. S.W. of the church, are three in number. The easternmost (a) is about 54 ft. in diam. and 4½ ft. high.'
