Monument record MDO1122 - Bank on south side of river Cam, Folke

An earthwork bank of unknown date and function running along the south side of the river. It has been suggested that this may be a medieval forest boundary bank.

(ST 666113) A bank extends for about 270 yds on the south side of the River Cam. It is 22 feet wide by 5 feet high, of
uncertain purpose. <2>

There are no traces of the earthwork beyond the limits shown on the OS 6" map. There is no ditch. The bank is of Medieval rather than prehistoric type and may be an incomplete forest boundary bank. <3>

The feature has been levelled leaving no traces. Detail cancelled on 1:2500 AM. <4>
