‘Lime kiln with associated features. The kiln is rectangular in plan and is built of roughly coursed stone. The front face is c. 5m tall and contains a pointed daw arch; the interior of the arch could not be assessed due to thick undergrowth. The kiln face bears the scar of the gable of a lime shed and a sunken trackway runs south for a short distance from the draw arch. The pot is c. 2m in diameter and brick lined; a poking hole is visible in the base. The mouth is sealed by an iron grille and the kiln itself is fenced off. The remains of the quarry supplying the kiln are visible as a depressed area to the north-west, including several low faces and what may be several small pits.’
