Summary

A detached 16th century farmhouse with a rebuilt lower end (byre) dated 1655 and an early 18th century extension at the upper end. Built from coursed rubble-stone walls, with dressed stone walls at the right hand and thatch roof with stone gable-copings.

Full Description

The house was built in the 16th c and has a 17th c extension on the NE and an 18th c wing on the N.W. On an added gable is a store with the date 1655. <2>

Known as UPTON MANOR FARM I know nothing of its history <3.1> . A well preserved stone built farmhouse with mullioned windows with dripstones in the south west but otherwise lacking external features of dateable antiquity. Dating in T2 accepted. <3>

Date stone as in T2 bears the inscription ie 1655. Situated on the S.W gable. <4>
