Summary

An early C17 Manor House, though possibly incorporating some earlier work, the service wing has a late C17 or early C18 west front, and there have been considerable alterations and additions of 1892, 1909 and later C20. Constructed of dressed rubble and ashlar and the service wing with brick facing west . The roofs are gable-ended, stone slated, with stone copings and stone stacks in various locations. The Manor House has 2 storeys and attics and irregular fenestration. The main range is of an E plan with forward facing gables and stone mullioned windows. The service wing's west facade has stone mullioned windows and a 4-centred arch doorway. A single storey wing to the west of the service range appears to be largely C20 though incorporating some earlier stonework. There are a number of pieces of stone carving reset in the walls, including foliage carved corbels, ballflower and head corbels of C14 , probably taken from Cerne Abbey.
