Description

Excavation in 1932 of a Roman pottery kiln in an area where pits and features described as hut sites had been observed during quarrying from 1927. The kiln was ascribed to AD 50-60 and contemporary pits and ditches, and possibly another kiln of late Roman date were recorded. In the NMR record this work is dated to 1933. However, the references cited say 1932.
