Description

Following the discovery in 1963 of Roman pottery and part of a shale table leg during the digging of a pipe trench along the side of a field, Tony Brown excavated a trial pit 3 feet by 3 feet. He encountered a chalk surface surfaced with small pieces of limestone, and thought it was probably a floor.
