Description

Identification of pottery rim sherd recovered while removing a tree stump at the rear of 232 Blandford Road. Dated to 13th/14th century. Coarse fabric containing grains of quartz together with a little flint of chert and iron ore set in clean textured clay. Production site on shores of Poole Harbour or heathlands of south Wareham.
