Description
A survey commissioned on the advice of Dorset County Archaeological Service. A search of the NMR and Dorset SMR showed no entries for this site, but this does not indicate the absence of features on the ground. An overall annotated plan of the rifle range was made, and the site and buildings recorded photographically to RCHME level two survey . The report notes the buildings are not of any great architectural significance, but the earthworks are impressive examples of late 19th/ early 20th century military engineering.
