Description

Poole Museums Service undertook a desk-based assessment and site visit of the area of a proposed new car park at Upton House in 1995. The western side of the area is bounded by the course of a Roman road. The site visit identified a hollow way crossing the northern part of the study area, which was identified as the course of the former road between Wareham and Poole before it was moved northwards in the later 19th century.
