Description
Bournemouth University undertook a watching brief during the construction of a residential development to the rear of 32 South Street, Bridport in 2001. This revealed garden soils overlying a silty clay subsoil. The area was much disturbed by 19th and 20th century soakaways and services. A series of rubbish pits containing animal bone and oyster shell. One pit produced some late 17th century pottery. (1)
