EWX1802 - Norden Farm, Corfe Castle; excavation 1970 to 1971

P A Brown discovered this site and carried out a limited excavation before turning the site over to Michael Hughes for further investigation (see UID650457). A Romano-British well was revealed, thought to have some ritual significance due to the discovery of two altars associated with the masonry surrounding the well, and a complete sheep's skull at the bottom of the well. The site is only c.200 m from an important industrial site of the same date excavated by Nigel Sunter and P A Brown (UIDs 650458 and 651549 respectively). RCHME Microfilm Index PRN: 1537
