Description

Lilian Ladle conducted an archaeological watching brief during the laying of a water main at East Walls, North Bestwall Road in October and November 1994. The humic fill of the outer defensive ditch for Wareham's town walls was exposed. The findings were consistent with excavations on the West Walls. Five sherds of abraded Iron Age pottery were retrieved from the base of the pipe trench.
