Description
Wessex Archaeology undertook an archaeological evaluation of the site for the proposed new Bearwood Primary School in November 1992. Six trenches were opened by machine across the site and a number of archaeological features were recorded, the majority being ditches or gullies, some of which could be traced across the site from one trench to another. These ditches were interpreted as being part of a field system of Late Iron Age and Romano-British date, a continuation of the field system previously recorded at White's Pit, just to the west.
