Description

In 1963 during the digging of a pipe trench along the edge of a field part of a shale table leg was uncovered. This was in an area about twenty feet west of the Wareham road which was undisturbed by clay digging immediately south east of the mineral railway crossing. Pieces of Samian and Romano-British pottery and rough stone cubes, possibly tesserae, were also recorded.
