Description

A watching brief was conducted by Hinton and Hodges during the laying of new gas pipes in many of Wareham's road between March and April 1974. No early material was recovered, nor any early surfaces seen. The roads commonly had hard packed rubble under the tarmac, which had probably been laid during 18th century road improvement schemes.
