Description

During 1990 soil stripping of an area of about one hectare was undertaken in the northwest corner of Strawberry Field. This was undertaken under archaeological monitoring by Poole Museums Service. A group of three adjacent pits produced pottery and flint of early to mid Neolithic type. Two pits contained evidence for in situ burning and five were devoid of dating evidence.
