Topsoil was stripped from 3.5 ha prior to gravel extraction. This was conducted under constant archaeological supervision by Poole Museums Service. Observed subsoil features were Bronze Age, Romano-British and undated. Two Bronze Age pits (SZ 044539742 and SZ 04549742) contained Bronze Age pottery and flint. A further four pits were associated by proximity but were otherwise undated. A small Romano-British pit was found at SZ 04499726. An isolated pair of undated pits was found at SZ 04499729.
