Description
Geophysical survey of approximately 1.67 ha within the Portland open field system. The area proposed for survey was approximately 1.9 ha, but parts could not be surveyed because of surface obstructions and field boundaries. Survey data revealed anomalies of possible archaeological interest including a broad linear feature, interpreted as a possible trackway, ditches, and a large pit-like response. Other anomalies were attributed to agricultural features and trends of uncertain origin.
