Description
OASIS: Project Methodology: The detailed magnetic survey was carried out using a SENSYS MAGNETO MX V3 6 channel cart-based system. The instrument has 6 fluxgate gradiometers spaced 0.5m apart with readings recorded at 20Hz.
Project Results: The survey located a curvilinear anomaly which appears to be related to an oval enclosure ditch. A number of tree plantations associated with the parkland are depicted on 19th century mapping and this has a similar shape and dimensions to those mapped features; however, it is not recorded on mapping. It is, therefore, not possible to determine if it relates to an associated or similar feature, or if it is a much earlier ditched feature. Other anomalies relate to former boundary features, some of which are associated with linear banks and terraces within the site.
