'Examination of the fabric and construction of the wall suggests a date of construction during the mid to late 19th century. It is considered that the central gate is a more recent addition, with bricks and mortar in the gate piers more likely to date from the mid to late 20th century. There is evidence that re-use of bricks occurred in the construction of these piers, however it is considered unlikely that these bricks came from the original wall, owing to differences in form and fabric.'
