OASIS: The proposal is the removal of the east and north walls of the dining room. Both these walls appear to be of stud construction and to be of relatively recent date given the fact they are constructed off the flagstones and given the form of the skirting boards. The current arrangement of the rooms detracts from the special character of the building as it is clearly not the original room layout and in addition in practical terms makes the size of the rooms less than ideal. The removal of these walls would not therefore be damaging to the special character of the building as it would be returning part of the ground floor to its original layout.
