Description
The evaluation consisted of the machine excavation of 12 trenches. Eleven of the trenches measured 25m by 1.8m and one was 15m by 1.8m; equivalent to a 2% sample of the area proposed for development. Trenches were placed on anomalies and in apparently blank areas seen in geophysical survey. A large ditch, interpreted as a field boundary ditch of probable post-medieval date, and two undated lynchets were recorded.
