Description
A geophysical survey was undertaken over an area of 24.6 ha using four SenSys FGM650/3 magnetic gradiometers at 0.5m intervals mounted on a non-magnetic cart. Data was collected with a sensitivity of ±8 μT over ±1000 nT range at 100Hz, which produced intervals of 0.02m along transects 4m apart. The survey did not identify any anomalies that could be confidently attributed to archaeology although several anomalies may indicate historic field divisions and numerous features have been identified that likely relate to post-medieval chalk extraction.
