Description

‘Mr. Donald Young writes that the buildings of the former Portland urban District Council water pumping station at Gould’s Hill, Upwey, were surveyed and photographed in March 1970 by himself, Miss E. Watkins, and Miss E. Treasure. He notes that the station was built in 1899 and superseded about 1914; all the pumping machinery was sold for scrap about 10 years ago and the buildings were demolished in April 1970. Drawings, photographs and a short report were deposited in the County Museum.’
