Description

Small excavations in 1881 of the ditch found what was described as ‘more Roman black pottery’ and several pieces of quern stones. Descriptions suggest that were in the bottom filling of the ditch, and they may perhaps have been Iron Age in date. MSS refers to the Cunnington manuscript held in the Dorset Museum Library.
