Description

Evaluation comprising geophysical survey and trial trenching recorded the remains of the medieval Great Hall and dovecote as well as post-medieval structures. The supposed moat east of the manor house may have been a Saxon boundary feature marking the edge of a homestead at the west end of a ridge of land. The southern arm of the 'moat' was shown to be a Victorian addition.
