Description

Magnetometer: recorded grid to locate evidence of domestic activity within the confines of the Pimperne enclosure, and possible field systems immediately to thesouth. Part of an archaeological assessment in advance of the proposedMelbury Abbas Bypass. Few anomalies were recorded that might beconsidered to be archaeologically significant, however magneticallystrong ditch type responses did establish the position of parts of the southern and northern boundaries of the enclosure. Isolated pit responses elsewhere were considered to be of tentative identification only.
